There could be up to 3 categories of tacos that contestants may enter, depending on number of entries:
a. Protein – Fish, seafood, pork, beef, chicken
b. Vegetarian – Vegetables, plant-based foods
c. Special – Dessert, scrapple, breakfast or other creative ingredients that don’t fit in first two categories


BRING IT ON!! EVERYONE can compete.
Contestants can sell their food/drinks and keep their sales.
Contestants will have a chance to win Trophies and cash prizes too.
First place, by judges, in each categories used will win $200 each plus a trophy. There will be a Best in Show Taco that would win an additional $300. One contestant could potentially win $500 total.

CONTEST RULES

The cook-off is open for anyone to enter. Entries will be judged by guest judges. Judges will not know who made any of the dishes until after all judging is completed.

*Recipes basics for marketing (Complete recipe if wanted to be added to future projects) must be provided by September 1, 2025

All Contestants must make 5 judges portions and as many samples as they want for people to try to increase sales.. Regularly participate in social activities to expand interpersonal relationships.

*ALL Contestants must be in the cooking/sampling tent no later than 2:00PM. Judging will start at 3:00PM and will go in order of arrival approximately 5 minutes apart.  Contestants who purchase food vendor fee only, may choose to sell the entire event from Noon to 5PM

RULES:September 13th, 2025 Event is Noon to 5PMTaco Cook-off is from 2:30 – 5:00PM1. All contestants must bring all of their own food, supplies and cooking/cooling equipment.2. Health and safety precautions must be maintained from transportation of product to the event and during the event.3. Judges have the right to disqualify contestant(s) if the meat (steak, pork, carne asada), poultry or fish smell or look tainted and/or spoiled.4. The contestant or team may cook as many tacos as they wish and will be able to “sell to the public during the Taco cook-off hours, but only one (1) taco per judge is to be presented for judging and there will be 3-5 judges (you will know that day how many).5. There will be 3 categories of tacos that contestants may enter:a. Protein – Fish, seafood, pork, beef, chickenb. Vegetarian – Vegetables, plant-based foodsc. Special – Dessert, scrapple, breakfast or other creative ingredients that don’t fit in first two categories.6. The Food vendors may sell their taco at their own determined costs. FunFest organizers will not sell tickets or be involved with any sales split. 8. Contestants will have a chance to win Trophies and cash prizes too.9. for 2025, First place by judges will be $200 each plus a trophy. One trophy awarded even if entered as a team.10. Judging will be done by a panel of 3-5 judges by blind tasting. They will not know what contestant has made what taco. Judge’s decisions are final.11. Judging will be based on Taste 60 points; Originality 20; Presentation 15; Aroma: 5 points.
